How 30 Democrats’ Reckless Attacks on ICE Embolden Violence, Weaken America’s Borders, and Betray the Law
The horrific attack in Dallas, Texas — where an anti-ICE extremist opened fire on a federal immigration office — has forced the nation to confront an ugly truth: Democrats’ relentless vilification of ICE has crossed the line from reckless rhetoric into deadly consequence.
For years, leading Democrats have smeared ICE agents as “Gestapo,” “slave patrols,” “thugs,” and “terrorists,” resulting in a 1000% surge in violence against officers. They have compared the men and women enforcing our duly established immigration laws to Nazi SS officers, secret police, and human rights violators. Now, that campaign of demonization has spilled over into bloodshed.
The White House statement this week lays the blame squarely where it belongs: on the politicians who have made targeting ICE part of their brand. Here are just some of the low points:
- Gov. Tim Walz smeared ICE as the “modern-day Gestapo.”
- Gov. Gavin Newsom likened ICE to “secret police,” calling them “authoritarian” and proclaiming a “right to push back.”
- Rep. Jasmine Crockett compared ICE to “slave patrols.”
- Rep. Pramila Jayapal called them “deranged kidnappers” and celebrated “resistance.”
- Rep. Rashida Tlaib accused ICE of “terrorizing” communities and “turning our country into a fascist police state,” and called ICE a “rogue agency.
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren claimed ICE is “intentionally stok[ing] fear” and “tear[ing] communities apart.
- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said ICE “should not exist.
The list goes on — 30 prominent Democrats, from members of Congress to big-city mayors, all feeding hostility against the men and women tasked with protecting our borders.
Meanwhile, former President Biden presided over an unprecedented immigration crisis. More than 20 million illegal immigrants poured into the country on his watch, overwhelming cities, straining resources, and putting American families at risk. Yet the same lawmakers who stayed silent while our borders collapsed are now working overtime to hamstring deportation efforts and strip ICE of the tools it needs to do its job.
To Republicans — and millions of Americans who still value law and order — the agenda seems clear: Democrats are less interested in enforcing the law than in importing a new voter base to secure permanent political power. That is not just cynical politics. It’s a betrayal of the American people.
The Dallas attack should be a wake-up call. When elected officials dehumanize law enforcement officers and encourage “resistance” in the streets, it fuels the very violence we witnessed in Texas.
The question now is whether Democrats will own up to the climate of hate they have fostered — or whether they will double down on a crusade that endangers ICE agents, weakens our borders, and sacrifices American safety for political gain.
One thing is certain: the American people are watching.
