Over 5 million people have viewed the video of Emilia loving on Mary and Baby Jesus
While most kids are thinking about their list of stuff at Christmas time, at least one little girl from Woodland, Texas was overjoyed to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with a special visit to a Nativity scene where she interacted with and was overjoyed at seeing the true reason for the season.
In an Instagram post that went viral with over 350,000 likes and over 5 million views, a bi-lingual young girl, Emilia, approximately two years old sees a large, almost life-size cut-out depiction of the Nativity scene and begins running over to greet the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. Speaking in Spanish she is heard saying, “Maria, Maria,” (Mary, Mary) as she runs over to the hug and kiss the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus.
She poses for a photo with Mary, then Jesus, saying, “Cheese,” clearly enjoying her visit with the manager while hugging and loving on Mary and Jesus.
The story gets even better. It turns out her family immigrated here from Mexico and Emilia’s brother Bernardo who is 4 is battling Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Texas Children’s Hospital – his fourth treatment. Despite the challenges, Emilia and Bernardo’s mom Tamara Wadgymar told Fox News digital that they focus on the best and thank God for the trials they’ve been able to overcome – including finding a home and little by little rebuilding their lives here in America.
“I told her, ‘God gave us Jesus because He loves us.’ And I explained how exciting it was for Mary to be having a baby and how that baby is now born into our hearts each Christmas. Kids really do understand almost anything if you explain it on their level.”
