California’s “tough guy” Governor buckles to pro-Hamas mob
Last week, we witnessed the California Governor make up “facts” at will and random in the debate against Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis as he took a tough guy approach at the debate. This week, when that same Governor, buckled under the pressure of woke Palestinian mob protests and canceled California’s Christmas tree lighting and instead hosted it on Zoom. Yes, a Zoom Christmas tree lighting in California.
Newsom cancelled lighting out of fear of protests
A spokesman for the governor pointed to the increase of protests around the country for the reason for the cancelation of the in-person lighting. The statement read, “As we continue to see protests across the country impacting the safety of events of all scales — and for the safety and security of all participating members and guests including children and families — the ceremony this year will be virtual,” the statement read. “The program is unchanged and viewers can tune in Wednesday evening to watch this year’s festivities.”
The announcement came shortly after the Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights announced its plans to march and demonstrate at the state Capitol this week, calling for a cease-fire in the war between Israel and Hamas. The group was clear they intended to call out the governor for his stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict. The group stated they intended to, “out Gov. Gavin Newsom for hiding from the public because he doesn’t want to face their anger at his shameful stance in regard to the genocide in Gaza.”
Congressman Darrell Issa took the opportunity to call out Newsom for what he said was “cowardly” behavior. “Gavin Newsom let a pro-Hamas mob cancel California’s Christmas tree lighting. Does it get more cowardly than that?”
