GRAMMY® Award-winning worship music collective Maverick City Music will headline at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday July 24, marking the group’s biggest West Coast show to date.
Following what promises to be a landmark headline gig, the group has partnered with Live Nation Urban and the Los Angeles Mission for a “Day of Service” on the following day Monday, July 25. Maverick City Music will deliver a free performance downtown at Skid Row for community members in need. Additionally, they plan to spend the day personally giving back. The “Day of Service” will offer Outdoor Fellowship, Prayer Requests, Free On-Site Showers, Food Truck Vendors, Essential Supplies, Giveaways, Raffles, and more for free. The event will run from 12 pm-5 pm at the corner of 5th Street and Wall Street. Together, Maverick City Music and Los Angeles Mission will uplift individuals facing homelessness by bringing light and love to Skid Row.
Regarding the “Day of Service,” Mari Davies, VP of booking and talent at Live Nation Urban commented, “A major part of our mission at Live Nation Urban is to create impactful events that inspire, uplift, and bring communities together. We are grateful to be partnering with Maverick City and the LA Mission to serve
and bring resources, support, attention, and inspiration to the skid row community and beyond. Maverick City’s music is transformative, and the work of Pastor Troy and the LA Mission is invaluable.”
Tony Brown, founder of Maverick City Music/ MCMI also noted, “We’re excited to join forces with such powerhouse teams to bring awareness and help make effective change where needed in our communities. We, Maverick City, believe everyone has a story that deserves to be heard and a purpose worth pursuing.
With our platform, we created a non-profit called Maverick City Music Initiative, where we focus on Prison programs, Youth Programming, and Writing Camps. These programs focus on the marginalized communities by providing creative outlets for incarcerated men and women, planting music programs for
inner-city youth, and hosting safe houses for these youth. When approached with this opportunity to uplift, it wasn’t a question. Skid Row has so many hearts that long for the love of God and people. A longing to feel that they’re not forgotten. This is not something just for a day, but a movement of a lifetime that we
all need to take part in. This day will purely signify and embody God has no throwaway people. LA Mission x Live Nation Urban, let’s get it.”
Lastly, Los Angeles Mission President and C.E.O. Pastor Troy Vaughn added, “We are blessed that Maverick City Music is lending their voices to uplift our neighborhood for the launch of the Skid Row Revitalization Project. Their inspirational songs of love, faith, and devotion are what’s needed to bring
hope to our community. This is one of the core tenants of the Skid Row Revitalization Project: community-based actions that uplift and motivate residents towards positive actions.”
