Worship lights up NBC’s ‘The Voice’
Most television shows don’t usually promote the glory of God. However, just this week NBC’s ‘The Voice’ broadcasted their finalist Bodie performing Brandon Lake’s song, “Gratitude” and the response was more than he could have imagined.
Before the performance, the 29-year-old father of three dedicated the performance to his children. The performance was top-notch, with a backup choir and dance choreographed to go along with the popular worship song that is unapologetically Christian and worship in nature.
“So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah
Hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a King
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah” – Brandon Lake, Gratitude
Gwen Stefani, who has professed her faith in Christ in the past was touched and almost at a loss for words. CP reports, “I’m choking on my tears over here,” Stefani shared. “You have a superpower behind you; it’s a truth. I think it comes from your pure faith that you have…I can’t even speak right now, that was so beautiful.”
John Legend agreed: “Whatever you want to do, you have that in you.”
Blake Shelton, who was Bodie’s coach was also blown away stating about the musician’s performance that it was “one of the most moving performances I’ve seen in a long time on this show.”
Season 22 of “The Voice” concluded during Tuesday’s two-hour finale results show. Bodie came in second place and Shelton’s other contestant, Bryce Leatherwood, took home the win.
Brandon Lake celebrated the opportunity to influence the world with his music.
“Last night watching@bodiebring it on@nbcthevoice????????????????!! Good luck to all the contestants, but you know I’m cheering for my boy@bodie!! Tune in tonight to see the results.”
