Whistleblower Eithan Haim Risks Everything to Reveal the Truth – Now He Needs Help to Fight Back Against Political Intimidation
Eithan Haim, a 33-year-old general surgeon, has been thrust into the national spotlight as the whistleblower who exposed Texas Children’s Hospital’s transgender program. His legal defence fund has quickly grown to over $1MM since it was launched on the Give, Send, Go platform. The story, initially released by journalist Christopher Rufo on May 16, 2023, revealed the hospital’s public deception regarding its transgender program. The revelation had an immediate impact, leading the Texas Legislature to ban transgender medical interventions on minors within 24 hours.

However, this victory came at a great personal cost. On June 23, 2023, just hours before his graduation from surgical training, Haim was visited by two federal agents in an aggressive manner. Despite his insistence on having an attorney present, he was handed a target letter indicating a criminal investigation concerning “medical records.” Haim asserts that no laws were violated and that the investigation is a politically motivated attempt to silence whistleblowers.
Highly Ideological Department
“We believe this case is driven by a highly ideological division within the Department of Health and Human Services,” said Haim. “They aim to silence whistleblowers who expose institutionalized medical corruption and the dangers of hormone-based interventions for adolescents.”
The journey forward has been fraught with challenges. Haim and his family have exhausted their savings, retirement funds, and investments to cover the mounting legal bills. His identity was leaked to activists who have defamed him and threatened his reputation. Despite these hardships, Haim remains resolute.
“I do not bring this up to cast myself as the victim,” Haim stated. “We see this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stand up for what is right. The costs, whether financial, emotional, or career-wise, have been well worth it.”
Legal Defense Fund Costs
All funds raised go directly to Haim’s attorneys. The legal defense fund aims to establish a precedent for other whistleblowers to speak out without fear of government persecution. Additionally, it supports efforts to uphold state laws banning these medical procedures and takes offensive legal action against those who abuse their professional responsibilities.
The legal battle intensified on June 4, 2024, when three heavily armed US Marshalls indicted Haim with four federal felonies. “For telling the truth, I am the one being charged,” said Haim. “The message is clear: the punishment for challenging the dominant political ideology is severe.”
Despite these obstacles, Haim is determined to fight. “We must go to court and win. We need to establish that the justice system cannot be weaponized against those who tell the truth to protect children.”
Support from the public has been overwhelming. “The depth of our gratitude cannot be expressed by words,” Haim emphasized. “I will never give up. We will face down those who target whistleblowers and win.”
Shining a Spotlight on the Issue
Haim and his legal team are also working with Congress to ensure that this issue remains in the spotlight. On January 24, 2024, his attorneys sent a letter to Texas Representative Chip Roy and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, highlighting the political motivations behind the investigation.
“If we allow this precedent to be set, one of the primary mechanisms for accountability within the medical system will be lost,” said Haim. “The irreversible harm perpetrated under the guise of ‘gender-affirming care’ will continue behind closed doors.”

Haim remains hopeful, buoyed by the outpouring of support from the public. “Every donation represents an act of faith. We intend to repay that faith with action.”
