Christian author Eric Metaxas calls real men to find a wife, get married, respect women
Popular Christian author and speaker Eric Metaxas is calling out fast-food giant Carl’s Jr. for its latest Super Bowl ad, which he says provokes lust rather than promoting real manhood.
Metaxas, known for his bold takes on faith and culture, took to social media to voice his disapproval, writing:
‼️ “God wants us to respect women. If you want to be a real man, find a wife, get married, have a family. That’s God’s plan. God bless you. Nice try, Carl’s Jr.”
Metaxas made it clear that the fast-food chain’s approach to marketing was misguided at best. He went on to say that while Carl’s Jr. may not be pushing a “woke” agenda like Bud Light or Target, their use of a scantily clad woman in the ad isn’t the solution.
“I don’t want to reward Carl’s Jr. any more than I want to reward Bud Light or Target for being woke,” Metaxas stated. “Putting a scantily clad woman in an ad isn’t the opposite of woke—it’s another kind of stupid.”
Emphasizing biblical principles and rebuking Fox News for celebrating the ad, Metaxas added, “We’re not supposed to leer at women, God wants us to respect women.”
His remarks highlight a broader frustration with corporate marketing strategies that either embrace progressive ideologies or fall back on hyper-sexualized imagery to sell products. Metaxas gave Carl’s Jr an F – for fail on the advertisement that featured Alix Earle, a TikTok star with over 7 million followers. In an era where many Christian consumers are seeking alternatives to companies that contradict biblical values, Metaxas’ comments could further fuel discussions about where believers should spend their money
Is it time for Christians to demand better from corporations, or should they simply take their business elsewhere?
