This is truly Chick-fil-A’s pleasure. For the 8th consecutive year, the fast-food chain has one the number one spot as top fast-food chain based on the American Customer Satisfaction Index Restaurant Study. The restaurant came in at 83% after a random sampling of over 20,000 customers.
Runner up this year in the customer satisfaction index was Jimmy Johns at 79, Domino’s and KFC tied for third at 78, followed by Chipotle (77), Panera Bread (77), Pizza Hut (77), and Starbucks (77). McDonald’s trailed the other restaurants with a score of 68.
The restaurant now has over 2,600 restaurants across 47 states, Washington, D.C., Canada, and Puerto Rico. The company considers itself a business on a mission. Their mission? “Glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us” and “have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-a.”
The friendly, efficient service is contagious and keeps customers happy, satisfied, and coming back for more good chicken.
Trudy Cathy White, daughter of Chick-fil-A founders, shared with the Christian Post that although they sell a lot of chicken, they are really in the people business. The success they’ve experienced is in the end because the business has been built on biblical principles.
“We do appreciate the fact that we feel like God is blessing our business,” she told Christian Post. “I don’t know that there’s really a secret to it. My dad built this business based on biblical principles. He felt like his business decisions kind of go hand in hand with biblical principles. That’s no secret. There’s a lot of things that we are taught in God’s Word and we’ve been able to put it into practice in our business.”
“Above everything, I think at Chick-fil-A we’ve gotten real clarity of our purpose of why we’re in business,” she continued. “That’s been really important to us. Back in the early ’80s, we recognized the fact that we didn’t have a real clear direction as to why we were in business. But we know today that we’re in business to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that’s been trusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A. We love selling chicken but we’re really more in the people business.”
Thankfully, the company is putting people ahead of profits and reinvesting in local communities. “Everyone’s job at Chick-fil-A is to serve. No matter our title or job description, our reason for coming to work is to generously share our time and talents. Whether it’s treating customers like friends, or serving our communities like neighbors, we believe kindness is a higher calling.”
