In a shocking move by over 50 public libraries, faith and family books are being stonewalled for events and distribution. Books being excluded from the library system include, most notably, Kirk Cameron‘s newest book, “As You Grow.” According to Fox News, “50 public libraries have either outright rejected him or not responded to requests on his behalf.” However, many of the libraries are actively promoting “drag queen” story hours for kids and young people.
Signs of the Times
Cameron believes this battle is a fight for the hearts and minds of children around the country. Right now, it appears we’re losing. Cameron told Fox New Digital, “This is proof that more than ever, we are getting destroyed in the battle for the hearts and minds of our children.”
As You Grow by Kirk Cameron is a children’s book about “Sky Tree” growing into a haven for Freedom Island and a symbol of hope for all. Starting from a seed, Sky Tree has grown into a massive tree through the trials and triumphs along the way. As you track the gentle giant’s growth, read the words of wisdom that guided this tree, and learn about love, joy, and gentleness with your family through the BRAVE challenge at the end of the book.
Trent Talbot, founder, and CEO of the Texas-based Brave Books also believes this is a statement the public library system is sending to the American people, and yet they are funded with taxpayer dollars. Talbot told Fox News Digital, “It is devastating to discover that many of our publicly funded libraries have now become indoctrination centers that refuse to allow biblical wisdom to be taught to our children.”
The fact that many of these same libraries are promoting an LGBTQ agenda but refuse to allow books promoting family and faith values, is a sign of the times and further evidence we are in a cultural battle for the next generation. Yet these same libraries are being funded by taxpayers. It’s time we speak up and share the truth in a way that compels action.
Cameron continued according to Fox, “Publicly funded libraries are green-lighting ‘gender marker and name change clinics’ while denying a story time that would involve the reading of a book that teaches biblical wisdom. How much more clear can it get?”
It’s time to speak up. Let your voice be heard and call your local library today.
