Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt Highlights Trump’s Speech, Slams Democrats, and Defends Tariffs in Fiery Briefing
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called out Democrats’ disgraceful conduct at Trump’s State of the Union address last night at the US Capitol. Leavitt did not hold back in her criticism, stating, “The behavior of Democrats last night was completely disgraceful and demonstrated how severely out of touch they are with the American public. It was the most shameful moment in the history of presidential addresses in that beautiful chamber.”
The press secretary sharply criticized Democrats’ behavior during the address, calling it “completely disgraceful” and “the most shameful moment in the history of presidential addresses.” She called out Democratic lawmakers for screaming at Trump, walking out, and refusing to stand for victims like Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, or for policies like tax cuts, uncovering government waste and fraud, and protecting women’s sports. “They couldn’t even clap for a girl who got her head smashed in by a man on a volleyball court,” she said, adding that the only time Democrats cheered was for Ukraine but not for America.
Last night was a clarifying moment for our country—the Democrats exposed themselves as the party of insanity and hate.

The press secretary also took aim at mainstream media, citing MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace for linking a 13-year-old cancer survivor to January 6th criticism and CNN for labeling the speech “divisive,” despite 69% of its viewers reacting positively in a post-speech poll. “It’s sad and frankly pathetic that Democrats and liberals in the legacy media allow their hatred for the president to override their love for our country,” she said.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt called President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress a “historic and incredible” speech that resonated with the American public and outlined Trump’s vision for renewing the American Dream.
