Estimated 200+ killed, hundreds injured in war in Israel
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas, the Palestinian terror group that launched a surprise attack of over 2,200 rockets launched at Israel Saturday morning, killing 200+ and injuring hundreds more.
“We are at war,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said via television, announcing a mass army mobilization. “Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war.”
“The enemy will pay an unprecedented price,” he continued, vowing Israel would fight back and “return fire of a magnitude that the enemy has not known.”
The Hill reports, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. stands squarely by Israel and will ensure it “has what it needs to defend itself.” The US remains one of Israel’s strongest supporters with aid flowing to the nation of approximately $3.8 billion a year.
FOX News shared a video of Hamas terrorists paragliding into Israel and opening fire on civilians and reported, “Hamas fighters used explosives to break through the border fence enclosing the long-blockaded Mediterranean territory, then crossed with motorcycles, pickup trucks, paragliders and speed boats on the coast, the Associated Press reported.”
President Biden spoke promising support for Israel and empathized with families impacted by this violence and loss of loved ones.
“Let there be no mistake, the United States stands with the nation of Israel.”
