Star lands new role in faith-based film
Lucas Black is best known for his role in the Fast & Furious films along with NCIS, New Orleans. However, the star was missing out on time with his family and kids. Taking a step back from his role on NCIS, Black and his wife were praying for the next step when they were handed a script to a movie being produced by a pastor. After review, they knew this was the next step in Black’s acting career.
An obvious ‘yes’
Black’s latest role is in the family-friendly release titled, “Legacy Peak,” available exclusively on PureFlix. He told Christian Post after reading the script, it was an obvious yes, “I read it, my wife read it, and she comes to me with tears in her eyes and says, ‘I don’t know why you wouldn’t be a part of this project,’” Black recalled, explaining why he wanted to take the role. “It’s one that really sheds a good light on fathers. It shows the need for a good earthly father. It shows how we can find our fulfillment and love from our Heavenly Father, and it really is one that’s going to empower the nuclear family, and especially fathers out there.”
The movie is an action-packed drama. First a plane crash, then an ATV adventure. Chased by wolves, lost in the wilderness, the film leaves viewers on the edge of their seats, and yet it inspires fathers and men to be the protectors, providers, and strong figures their wives and children need.
Entertainment industry temptations
“I think all throughout my career, there was a concern because I would observe how the entertainment industry would destroy families and destroy marriages,” Black shared on Legacy Starts Today with Lee Domingue. Black is countering that reality with family-friendly entertainment.
“Jason (Black) is on an adventure to win the hearts of Noelle’s kids before they marry. The plan for them to fly to her parent’s cabin days before she wraps up work quickly falls apart and the adventure turns to a struggle to survive before this new family can start a life together.”
