The Left’s “Values” of Open Borders, Economic Chaos, and Global Conflict Threatens America’s Core Principles
In a recent interview with Kamala Harris, Oprah boldly declared that the upcoming election is about “values.” But whose values and what values is she talking about?
Kamala Harris recently wrote, “One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.” To which Coach Tony Dungy wrote, “I hear you make this statement all the time,” Dungy wrote in a note for Harris on X. “Exactly what ‘faith’ are you talking about when you say you don’t have to abandon it to support abortion?” Dungy continued, “Are you talking about that faith or some nebulous, general ‘faith’ that says we’re good enough, and smart enough to make our own decisions? What ‘faith’ are you talking about?” he asked. And that question begs an answer.
The left has made it clear where they stand over the last four years: open borders, unrestricted access to abortion, gender mayhem, child mutilation, economic policies that drive inflation, and a global agenda that fans the flames of conflict, from Ukraine to Israel while giving lip-service to the poor of America that they are the party that cares. Meanwhile, their policies put more people on the streets, drove the costs of gas and food out of control, and plunged our country into a depression. These so-called “values” are driving the country down a dangerous path, not just economically but morally and internationally.
False Compassion Endangers Citizens
Let’s take a look at their approach. Open borders sound compassionate, but in reality, it’s a recipe for lawlessness. The left demonizes Trump’s call for stronger deportation policies, but here’s the truth: we allow thousands of foreigners into our country legally every year, why should people jump the line? No one expects to break into a country without consequences, yet the left insists that allowing illegal immigration unchecked is somehow humane. Compassion isn’t turning a blind eye to the law—it’s ensuring that laws are upheld for everyone’s safety.
As a Christian, it’s important to care for the poor and take care of the alient, but that doesn’t mean that our nation should open its borders and endanger its citizens. That means the church and individual Christians should reach out to those in our community who are displaced, hurting, and in need of a hand up. While the American dream can be obtained by any hardworking person who comes to our country legally and with the goal of contributing, there is still law and order that protects citizens and a process to follow for those who have gone about it the correct way.
Left’s Policies Crush the Average Worker
On the economic front, the left’s policies are crushing the average worker. Biden’s shut down of the Keystone Pipeline during his first week in office spoke volumes while Harris looked on in approval. Then Biden’s obsession with sending taxpayer dollars to Ukraine, even while he began buying oil from Russia, making us energy-dependent and potentially funding Russia’s invasion through petroleum. Bad decisions are inflating prices, making basic necessities unaffordable for countless Americans. Look at our Democrat run cities to realize that socialism doesn’t work. Free enterprise and small government allows entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive and incentivizes hard work, lifting people out of poverty and leveling the playing field. Yet, the Left wants to effectively eliminate the middle class, and take from the rich and give to the poor.
And while they like to accuse Trump of being a threat to democracy, the left’s actions speak louder than words. Look at how they orchestrated the removal of Biden after his disastrous debate even as any observant onlooker could tell his health had quickly declined, leaving us with Kamala Harris—who has yet to earn a vote on her own in a national election—as the inevitable successor. Is this really democracy?
Global Conflicts Abound
The most troubling part is how these policies are dragging us into global conflicts, escalating tensions and leading us further into wars that hurt not just the U.S. but our allies. Ukraine, Israel, and other hotspots around the globe are dealing with the fallout of a foreign policy that prioritizes chaos over stability.
Meanwhile, the left points fingers at Trump, accusing him of being a threat to democratic institutions. Yet he is pro-America jobs, But let’s be clear: the real threat is a political machine that manipulates the system to install a candidate without a mandate from the people. This election isn’t just about values; it’s about the survival of the values that truly make America great—law, order, economic stability, and peace.
