Kupp leans into faith for success on and off the field
Cooper Kupp may be known on the field as the Rams star receiver and winner of this year’s Offensive Player of the Year, but he says it’s faith and family off the field that give him the strength to perform at his best.
Kupp told CBN in 2019 that his faith is the foundation of who he is as a husband, father, and football player and though he fails, he knows who he is in Christ,
“At the very basic levels of my life – as a husband, as a father, as a football player, knowing how much of a failure I am at these things if it wasn’t for my faith if it wasn’t for knowing that Christ has told me who I am in His eyes and know that how far short I fall in all these things, that He’s bridged every gap and that He’s called me to even greater things.”
His wife Anna thanked God via an Instagram post for the amazing season the Rams have played this year,
“This moment. These moments!!! Thanking God for every one of them. We have prayed for a season to glorify our Savior Jesus Christ and you are doing just that my lovey @cooperkupp. SURREAL!!”
Kupp and his wife also launched their own branded clothing line, CooperKupp.com centered around who Kupp is as and his priorities of faith, family, football.

Kupp is living out his faith by investing in his family and his relationship with his wife and kids. He told ESPN in a recent interview,
“We just were so aligned in terms of what our goals were and what we wanted to do moving forward and what we wanted to be about as a couple,” Cooper shared with ESPN. “And the belief that football was the community, was the place that I was supposed to be, that we were supposed to be, and that’s where God placed us.”
Kupp’s faith is also strengthened by his parents and extended family who told CBN, “We’re not the number one focus of our lives, it’s Christ first then it’s others, starting with the closest people to you.”
Sports Spectrum reported that Kupp shared reference to Proverbs 16:9 at the beginning of the season after becoming the first player in franchise history with 100 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first two games of a season. “Today, the verse that was on my mind was, ‘The heart of man chooses his path but the Lord establishes his steps,’” Kupp said. “It just gave me so much freedom to go out there and play free, give everything I had [and] know the results rested in Him.”

CBN asked Kupp, “Off the field do you ever consider Jesus Christ being a playmaker in lives? Kupp responded, “He might just be the greatest playmaker who ever lived. Restoration, redemption, sacrifice, you know what he laid on the line to change the world forever. You can’t find a better playmaker than Jesus Christ.”
