Irvine’s sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival takes over Great Park Friday evening with a free celebration of traditions shared across Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian communities.

The City of Irvine and South Coast Chinese Cultural Center are hosting the festival from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex. Admission and parking are free.
More than a night market
Organizers say the evening will feature music, dance and martial-arts performances, food vendors, cultural demonstrations, crafts and family activities.
Visitors can also explore traditional arts and games. The Mid-Autumn Festival traditionally emphasizes reunion, gratitude and gathering with family and community.
