Country singer Loretta Lynn passed away today at 90 and fans are remembering her for her hit songs, catchy lyrics, and her Christian faith that inspired her music.

The family released a statement today on social media stating, “Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills.” The family of Loretta Lynn. The family has asked for privacy during this time, as they grieve. An announcement regarding a memorial will be forthcoming in a public announcement.”

“When I think about Easter I think about the incredible beauty of real love. Love that gives when it doesn’t have to. Love that gives even when it doesn’t receive. It’s what Christ did for us. I think of hope and redemption and forgiveness,” the singer wrote in a public Instagram post this past April.

The post continued, “There aren’t words to share how thankful I am for all God has done for me. “The Third Man” has always been my very favorite gospel song.
