Angel Studios offers free tickets to their latest film, Bonhoeffer, the inspiring true story of a pastor who risked everything to save lives during the Holocaust

The studio behind the global hit Sound of Freedom, is breaking new ground with a provocative social campaign ahead of the release of its latest film, Bonhoeffer. In theaters nationwide starting November 22, the studio is offering free tickets specifically to antisemites in an effort to combat prejudice and spark reflection through the story of a pastor who risked everything to oppose Hitler and save Jews during the Holocaust.

Bonhoeffer is a beautiful statement against antisemitism, so we’re prioritizing free tickets specifically for antisemites,” said Jeffrey Harmon, co-founder of Angel Studios. “Who needs to understand the evils of antisemitism more than those who perpetuate it? What began as a parody campaign has revealed a deeper resonance. Bonhoeffer’s story is as crucial today as it was during his lifetime, especially in the face of a worldwide surge in antisemitism.”

The initiative has already garnered significant attention, with over 2,500 ticket requests received. Harmon noted the eye-opening commentary accompanying these requests, reinforcing the need for stories like Bonhoeffer’s in today’s cultural landscape.

The Story of Bonhoeffer

Bonhoeffer tells the gripping true story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German pastor who faced a moral and spiritual crisis during the rise of the Nazi regime. As the world stood on the brink of destruction, Bonhoeffer transitioned from a pacifist preaching peace to a key figure in a daring conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

The film explores Bonhoeffer’s faith, courage, and the profound ethical questions he wrestled with as he sought to save millions of Jews from genocide. Directed by Todd Komarnicki (Elf, Sully), the movie features a stellar cast, including Jonas Dassler (Never Look Away), August Diehl (Inglourious Basterds), and Clarke Peters (The Wire).

Why this Campaign Matters

The campaign underscores Angel Studios’ commitment to using storytelling to address pressing societal issues. By offering free tickets to antisemites, the studio aims to reach audiences most in need of Bonhoeffer’s message.

“Bonhoeffer’s choice to risk his faith, freedom, and life to confront hatred is a story that transcends history,” Harmon emphasized. “We hope this film will inspire viewers, challenge prejudice, and ignite meaningful conversations about morality and justice.”
