Texas Ranger 21-year-old rookie, Evan Carter, joined the major league baseball team just this month and the rookie is already having an impact and using his platform to share his faith. The kid wears his faith on his sleeve, literally, you could say.
The rookie showed up for practice with a t-shirt written, “Jesus Won,” and it didn’t go without notice. The Rangers shared the post of Carter and quickly gathered over 34,000 likes.
noelle44 commented, “The shirt is 100% amazing! He might now be my favorite player. Love his boldness.”
sally_82 was encouraged by the message on Carter’s shirt also. “That shirt 👏👏👏 Love it ❤️”
The standout center fielder took to social media to share that he is beyond blessed with this opportunity to play in the major leagues. The “Jesus Won” t-shirt is a reference to his finished work on the cross, when Christ was breathing his last breath and declared, “It is finished,” meaning the battle against sin was won on behalf of those who believe.
On September 8 Carter played his debut major league game versus the Oakland Athletics with his first career walk, stolen base, and hit. He also hit his first home run in his fourth game. The future does indeed look bright for the rookie, but as his shirt says, Jesus won and that settles it.
