As Monday Night Football kicked off for it’s first game of the 2023 year, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made a tackle, got right up and then collapsed on the field in Cinncinati, Ohio. Players called for medical assistance to rush out to Hamlin to help as Hamlin appeared lifeless on the field.

The team and announcers called for prayer for Damar as CPR was administered to him on the field for 9 minutes. Hamlin was taken off the field in an ambulance. The game was subsequently temporarily suspended and both teams retreated to their respective lock rooms. 10 minutes later, the NFL made the decision to officially post-pone the game.

At the time of this article, Damar was in critical condition at the UC Medical Center in Cinncinati.

The team gathered in prayer over Hamlin as it appears to be a life-and death-situation. The entire bench huddled around Hamlin in prayer and solidarity.

A man could be seen holding a sign “Pray for Buffalo #3 Hamlin” as the network signed off from Cinncinati. ESPN commentator Scott Van Pelt also asked for prayer for Hamlin. QB Robert Griffin III and thousands on social media also asked for prayer for Hamlin and his family.
