Pastor miraculously survives attempted murder during sermon

Last Sunday, a harrowing incident unfolded at a Pennsylvania church when a young man attempted to shoot Pastor Glenn Germany during his message. The police told the pastor afterwards, “This bullet had your name on it!” as they investigated the scene. However, what could have been a tragic outcome was miraculously averted as the gun jammed, an event attributed to God’s intervention.

The dramatic scene unfolded in front of congregants as Pastor Germany was delivering his sermon. The would-be assailant approached him with a loaded firearm, but before he could carry out his deadly intent, the gun malfunctioned. Amidst the chaos, a quick-thinking deacon sprang into action, subduing the individual and disarming him before any further harm could be done.

In a display of remarkable grace and forgiveness, Pastor Germany, despite the trauma of the incident, offered his forgiveness to the attacker. He even extended a hand of help, expressing his willingness to assist the young man in any way possible. This act of compassion in the face of violence has resonated deeply with many, highlighting not only the pastor’s character but also echoing a message of divine grace and mercy.

The power of forgiveness

The entire incident was captured on the church’s live stream, bearing witness to the tense moments and the subsequent resolution. The footage serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the power of forgiveness, even in the most trying of circumstances.

As news of this extraordinary event spreads, Pastor Germany has become a symbol of resilience and faith, embodying the message of forgiveness and God’s protective hand in times of peril. The community has rallied around him, offering prayers and support as they reflect on the profound lessons learned from this incident.

Grace prevailed

In the midst of adversity, Pastor Glenn Germany’s survival stands as a testament to the belief that even in the face of violence, forgiveness and grace can prevail.

Police identified the suspect as Bernard Junior Polite, aged 26, who was apprehended at the church by Pastor McCallister and Germany. The congregation members helped detain Polite until the Pennsylvania State Police arrived.

After Polite’s arrest, authorities from Allegheny County visited his residence and discovered the body of a 56-year-old man, identified as Derek Polite by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. Derek Polite had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
