100 salvations recorded at Greg Laurie’s evangelistic event

The island of Maui witnessed a powerful and uplifting event last weekend as Pastor Greg Laurie and the Harvest team hosted the “Hope for Lahaina” outreach event. With over 3,000 attendees across two services, the event marked a significant moment of unity and healing for the community.

The event commenced with heart-touching worship led by Leeland, setting the stage for an evening filled with spiritual renewal and encouragement. One of the highlights was an inspiring performance by worship leader Danny Gokey, whose Spirit-led worship resonated deeply with the audience. Despite a tight schedule, Gokey’s dedication shone through as he delivered a memorable performance before rushing to appear on American Idol, where he paid tribute to the late Mandisa with a gospel song performance.

Significance of event brings hope after the tragic fire

The significance of “Hope for Lahaina” extended beyond the music and messages. The island of Maui has faced immense challenges, particularly the tragic fire that claimed over 100 lives and displaced thousands. The event served as a beacon of hope and solidarity, reminding the community of their resilience and the love of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Greg Laurie shared on Twitter, “We had a blessed time for our outreach event yesterday on the island of Maui that we called ‘Hope For Lahaina.’ The response from the community has been overwhelming, and it’s a testament to the strength and faith of the people here.”

The event also marked a milestone in Harvest Maui‘s journey as they announced plans to move to a larger facility. This expansion underscores the ongoing commitment to serve and uplift the Maui community, providing a space for worship, fellowship, and healing.

Ask for continued prayer

As the event concluded, Pastor Laurie urged continued prayers for Maui and its residents. The “Hope for Lahaina” event not only provided a platform to share the gospel in word and deed but also ignited a renewed sense of hope and purpose among attendees, signaling brighter days ahead for the resilient community of Maui.

Laurie concluded, “Hope was found in Jesus Christ! 100 professions were made for Christ. To God be the glory!”
