A new Jesus movement sparked in Southern California as Greg Laurie‘s Harvest Church hosts massive baptism service at Pirate’s Cove

Fresh off the raving success of Jesus Revolution movie, Greg Laurie’s Harvest Church and Harvest Crusade are seeing thousands come to Christ, sparking a new wave of revival, not seen since the ’70s. First, Laurie’s Harvest Crusade welcomed 32,500 people to the Honda Center in Anaheim for a massive crusade. Nearly 7,000 people made confessions of faith.

As if that wasn’t enough, Laurie’s Harvest Church then hosted one of, if not the largest single baptism service in history at Pirate’s Cove, with 4,500 getting baptized at the historic site in Newport Beach, California. In addition to the 4,500 who were baptized, an estimated twenty thousand people came out to witness the historic occasion.

“People literally came from all around the world,” explained Laurie.

“This is new, this is fresh, this has never happened before.”

Laurie explained that people in California are hungry for the gospel. People in America are hungry for the gospel, and God still has a plan. Despite California’s government passing laws completely contrary to the Word of God and the counsel of Scripture, the people of California are hungry for the next move of God.

“This may be the largest single baptism in American history.”
