Missionary pioneer and author Joy Dawson went on to be with the Lord today, she was 96. Dawson served in leadership with YWAM as a mission pioneer traveling to 55 nations, teaching the gospel, and inviting believers into a deeper walk with Christ.

Dawson will e remembered by thousands who looked to her for spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and a missionary pioneering spirit. Dawson was the author of numerous books including Intimate Friendship with God, Forever Ruined for the Ordinary, and My Journey with Jesus among others.

Charisma News reported a memorial service is planned within the next two weeks at Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California to be attended by her missionary children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from across the world.

Dawson is famous for her writings that truly touched the nations of the world. In Forever Ruined for the Ordinary she wrote, “If God doesn’t open the door of opportunity in which I’m to minister, I don’t want to go through that door.” And continued by defining the fear of the Lord and what that means to her personally. The fear of the Lord means being more impressed with God’s reactions to our actions than with other people’s reactions.

Evangelist and Pastor of Jesus Image, Michael Koulianos responded to the news by sharing on his Instagram about his relationship with Joy and the help she has been to him throughout the years.

“Hundreds of hours together. Searching the scriptures, worshipping Jesus, praying for one another, laughing hysterically, and weeping together. My life has not been easy. I’ve been wounded so deeply that there were moments when I wondered if I would survive the pain. Only Heaven knows the pain. When the tears flowed, I could always call Joy.”

Koulianos continued, admitting he wouldn’t be where he was in ministry if it had not been for Joy.

“I would not be in the ministry as I know it had God not brought Joy Dawson into my life. There would certainly be no Jesus Image. Joy, I miss you. THANK YOU❤️You’re with HIM now. I love you.”
