24×7 prayer ministry agrees to thorough investigation of allegations against founder Mike Bickle

IHOP-KC Executive, Stuart Greaves announced the 24×7 prayer ministry has retained Stinson LLP an outside law firm to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse by founder Mike Bickle. Greaves also shared more about the allegations, stating they were mostly anonymous with the most substantial one happening 26 years ago before IHOP-KC was started. Regardless, the allegations will be thoroughly investigated and until the law firm completes its work, Mike Bickle has agreed to refrain from praying, leading, or taking part in any way with the ministry he founded in 1999.

A statement read by Greaves and posted on the mission’s base social media shared that a number of the allegations have been refuted already and others are being investigated.

“So far there is one allegation from 26 years ago that has some credibility. Other allegations have been more difficult to verify due to the fact that they are either anonymous or represented by third parties,” the statement read.

Dr. Michael Brown spoke at Forerunner Church at the request of IHOP-KC leadership to bring peace, order, and comfort to the hearts of the mission base. Brown is considered an elder in the Body of Christ with extensive experience in revival settings and in church leadership issues. Brown shared his desire is for a neutral third party to investigate before any speculation or assumptions are drawn. “BTW, I am NOT a spokesman for IHOPKC, I have no obligation to them (or anyone in their organization) to say or not say anything, I was 100% free to say whatever I felt to say in my message on Sunday. My call to others is to avoid speculation (on all sides), gossip, and evil surmisings while a fair, safe, due process unfolds. Let the truth come to light!”

Former IHOP-KC University President Allen Hood also released a statement shortly after the initial accusation came out against Bickle. Hood stated he and his wife are walking with one of the “survivors” of the alleged abuse by Bickle and are hopeful a third party will bring clarity to the situation.
