Faith Leaders Call for Prayer After Deadly Georgia School Shooting
In a devastating incident at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, a school shooting has left four students dead and nine others hospitalized. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp swiftly responded to the tragedy, asking the state to join him in prayer.
Prayer for Safety Called for by Georgia Governor
“I have directed all available state resources to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School and urge all Georgians to join my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state,” Governor Kemp wrote on X. “We will continue to work with local, state, and federal partners as we gather information and further respond to this situation.”

Faith Leaders Call for Prayer
Faith leaders, including Franklin Graham, also expressed their heartbreak over the incident. Graham took to social media, urging prayers for the victims: “News reports say that four people died and 9 were hospitalized in a shooting at Apalachee High School in north central Georgia, near Atlanta. Join me in praying especially for those who lost loved ones and for those injured in this senseless act of evil. May God’s hand of comfort be on them.”
Graham also announced that the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team would be deploying to Georgia to provide spiritual support to those affected by the tragedy. “Our team will be there in Georgia to offer prayer and spiritual support to those impacted by this tragedy in the difficult days ahead,” he said.
Pastor Greg Laurie also weighed in, expressing his sorrow: “Be praying for the families of these 4 students killed today at Apalachee High School in Georgia. So tragic! May God comfort them!”
