After making headlines for hiring former Hillsong Pastor, Carl Lentz, Transformation Church out of Tulsa, OK led by Pastor Michael Todd is in the news again for an Easter performance that is causing quite the stir.

Pastor Michael Todd shared he wanted to do something memorable for Easter. Not the every other church Easter play, but something that would draw in people near and far and share the message in a creative way. Well, that he did, but possibly in the wrong way, according to critics. Critics say that Transformation Church out of Tulsa, OK may have crossed the line of good taste with their Easter play performance titled ‘Ransom’. The play featured everything you would never think would be associated with Easter. This included questionable lyrics,  graphic depictions of demons at the scene of the cross, masks, chains, women talking about “fatty” behinds,  dark clothes, makeup, and scenes of hell featuring fire and red lighting…on Easter Sunday? Take a look:

Todd shared his heart later in an update to his congregation, saying he wanted to do everything short of sin to reach people. Todd shared he was tired of the traditional Easter plays consisting of “He got up” as in resurrection messaging. He decided to develop his own Easter message with Ransom.
