Deion Sanders thanks and glorifies God at University of Colorado press conference

Deion Sanders gave all the glory to God for the opportunity that has been afforded him as the new head football coach at the University of Colorado. The man  of faith stood in awe of what God has done, describing the move to Colorado as a calling from God. 

“Wow. Don’t you ever tell me what God ain’t. Don’t you ever tell me His limits,” Sanders said. “Don’t you ever tell me what you’re up against and what you can’t do.”

Sanders was adamant that this opportunity was a blessing from God and thanked him profusely in the press conference attended by the school’s leadership, alumni, and donors. 

“Out of all the persons in the world, God chose me,” Sanders stated. “For that, I thank Him; for that, I love Him; for that, I magnify Him; for that, I glorify Him; for that, I praise Him; for that, I owe Him. Each and every day, I’m trying to please Him.”

Sanders, who played 14 years in the NFL came to faith toward the end of his career and has been a devoted and outspoken Christian since. Sanders most recently coached at Jackson State University as head coach in Mississippi before accepting the role in Colorado. Sanders coached at Jackson State for three seasons and dominated their league, never losing one game, finishing the season 12-0. 

“This is unbelievable. It’s funny how God always takes me to the unthinkable and provokes me to do the things people would not fathom doing.”

“Don’t you ever tell me nothing that God can’t do, because this is incredible. God, this is incredible.”

Sanders also just overcome a potentially life-threatening health scare.

Sanders set his sights on the championship and committed to bringing the University back to where they belong – at the top. Sanders is ready to win and shared how he is going above and beyond and coming to win.
