Churches Across California to Unite for Record-Breaking Baptism Event

In a sweeping display of faith and unity, hundreds of churches across California are set to participate in a state-wide baptism initiative organized by Baptize California. The event, aiming to be the largest synchronized water baptism in history, will culminate at Huntington Beach on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

This ambitious effort follows last year’s successful Baptize SoCal event, where 280 churches collaborated to baptize over 4,100 individuals on May 18, 2023, at Pirate’s Cove in Corona del Mar. Building on that momentum, Baptize California is enlisting churches from all over the state to conduct unified baptism ceremonies immediately following their final services on the 19th. Data and media from these events will be shared with a central team and showcased in real-time during the main event at Huntington Beach.

God has more in store for California, as evident in the increasing resurgence and spiritual hunger among individuals and churches in the state.

Worship, prayer, and mass baptisms happening across California

Attendees at Huntington Beach and at other regional locations including San Francisco, San Clemente, and Redondo Beach will witness a powerful scene of worship, prayer, and mass baptisms as participants from across California publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ. The event is designed to foster a sense of unity and spiritual revival among the diverse congregations involved.

Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church, which is hosting the central event, expressed his excitement: “God has more in store for California, as evident in the increasing resurgence and spiritual hunger among individuals and churches in the state, fostering a sense of unity and promoting widespread spiritual awakening.” He added, “God is not done with America, and we believe that by uniting the Church and turning fully back to Jesus, He will heal our land.”

The upcoming baptism event on May 19, 2024, will be a continuation of this multi-church collaboration. Francey extended an open invitation to churches across California to join the initiative at no cost. Churches interested in participating can sign up to host a Baptize California event at their locations. For more information or to register, visit BaptizeCalifornia.com.

This landmark event underscores the growing movement among California’s Christian communities to come together in a powerful testament of faith and collective commitment to spiritual renewal.
